Every month from now on I will be sharing a flashback image from my travels.
To celebrate the end of my study abroad experience six years ago, this month’s flashback image reminds me of the fun I had while in Aix-en-Provence.
Time of Life:
After my junior year of college, I spent 6 weeks studying in Aix-en-Provence.
What this photo means to me:
Immersion. One of my first times living in another country. I do regret having an apartment instead of a home-stay to completely immerse myself in the culture, but it was an experience of a lifetime.

Behind the scenes story:
After taking my first French class when I was twelve, I decided I would some day study in France. It took me roughly ten years to fulfill my goal, but it was well work the wait. There are numerous fountains in Aix. Some locals even walk through them on hot days or during Fête de la Musique. Here is a picture of some of my friends cooling off in the fountains on our way home one night.

Have you ever lived abroad? If so, where and for how long?
