I was invited to participate in the Writer’s Process Blog Tour by Cascadian Nomads. If you are a dog lover and enjoy adventure, then head on over and check out Bethany’s blog.

What am I working on?

Beautiful summer months with long days inhibit my ability to sit at a computer and write. I hope to finish writing my Glacier National Park posts from my trip back in July. I have been busy with my full time job and was hoping to get these online sooner. In addition to my Glacier National Park posts, I have been trying to start another Travel Throwback Thursday series on my South America trip a few years ago.

Why do I write what I do?

I will be the first to admit that I am not a writer, but I wanted to share my life journey after writing in journals while traveling for years. It is an outlet to share with friends and family what I am up to and what I have experienced. I really enjoy walking down memory lane by revisiting posts I wrote a year or two ago or even reading journals I wrote years ago. The human brain does wonders of tucking memories away in the deepest crevasses and needing something to spark that memory.
My travel blog has evolved to an adventure blog, so I can share my experiences when I am not traveling but exploring the great Pacific Northwest. I am sharing how anyone who holds a full time job can still travel and explore by making the most of your vacation days and weekends. Travel has always intrigued me being from a small town and wanting to know more. On top of travel, I have really enjoyed the great outdoors.

How does my writing process work?

I have a terrible writing process. It is rushed and not edited or researched. I am not a journalist for fancy magazines and sometimes lose direction. One thing I will say is I enjoy letting my photos tell the majority of the story.  I start by introducing my story and then share the pictures to help illustrate my travels and adventures. It is hard for me to express the emotions and senses I experience while on my journeys. Since most of my trips are self-guided, I do not know the history or stories that one may learn when traveling on tours. I am more of a visual person, so sharing pictures is how I communicate. I write about sections of trips or adventures and try to break up the posts to create mini series of sorts.

Now, it’s my turn to nominate.

These bloggers have followed me on a variety of social media platforms and are very unique writers. I am happy to nominate the following and learn more about their writing processes:

Keep the tour going:

  • Introduce the writer that nominated you.
  • Answer the three questions about your writing process.
  • Nominate (at least) three of your favorite writers.
